Nathan HortonBruins fans had been waiting 39 years for the team to win the Stanley Cup again. Finally, their wait would be coming to a close.

After six grueling games, Boston and Vancouver were heading for a winner-take-all showdown in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final. Each team had held serve on their home ice thus far, but with the Presidents’ Cup-winning Canucks hosting the B’s for the last game of the season, all bets were off.

Tim Thomas kept up his Vezina ways, making 37 saves for the shutout as the Bruins beat the Canucks 4-0. Patrice Bergeron and Brad Marchand each scored twice as the Bruins cruised to victory in memorable fashion.
