Can you imagine The Beard on the Red Sox? Apparently, the flamboyant closer can.
Brian Wilson is interested in joining the Red Sox, Dodgers or Angels, and he’s still interested in rejoining his teammates in San Francisco, according to Jim Bowden of ESPN.
All four locations make sense for Wilson. He grew up in New Hampshire and is a huge Boston sports fan, and he lives in Los Angeles now. There are conflicting reports about the Giants, though. Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle said Wilson has no interest in rejoining the Giants after getting nontendered.
Wilson had Tommy John surgery in April and is expected to be ready by the start of the 2013 season. It was Wilson’s second Tommy John surgery of his career. The Red Sox don’t have a giant need in their bullpen, but Wilson could be a low-risk option with an incentive-laden contract.
