Report: Cody Ross Agrees to Three-Year Deal With Diamondbacks

It took a while for Cody Ross to sign on with a new team, but he’s getting to stay close to home on a three-year deal.

The Arizona Diamondbacks have signed Ross, according to Mark Feinsand of the New York Daily News. Ross, who lives in Scottsdale, Ariz., during the offseason, signed on for three years and $26 million, according to Jim Bowden of ESPN.com.

Ross joins a now-crowded corner outfield with Justin Upton and Jason Kubel. Ross played center field as a starter in 2010 with the Marlins, but he’s better in left or right.

Ross played right field primarily with the Red Sox in 2012, when he hit .267 with 22 home runs and 81 RBIs. The Diamondbacks will be the seventh team Ross has played for during his nine-year career.

Cody, wish you the absolute best of luck and thanks for your contributions to the Red Sox. I truly hope that you get the chance to stick it to them good, no matter where or what it costs them! Maybe they will wake up one day!

Another one and done that got away. Why couldn't he get a three year deal from the Sox like Victorino, and possibly Napoli? I can't believe we're going to be heading into the season with a Gomes/Nava/Kalish platoon.
