Cody Ross doesn’t have a home yet, but he’s still a rather popular guy.
Ross has been linked to a number of teams already this offseason, and on Tuesday he met with the Texas Rangers, according to FOX Sports’ Ken Rosenthal. General manager Jon Daniels and skipper Ron Washington were reportedly among the team officials on hand for dinner with the outfielder.
The Rangers join the Red Sox, Phillies, Braves, Mariners, Yankees, Mets and Orioles as teams that have been linked to Ross this offseason is some way, shape or form. Ross, of course, spent 2012 with Boston, carving out a solid season despite the Red Sox’ disappointing 69-93 finish. The Sox might now opt to steer clear of Ross, though, as they’ve already added outfielders Shane Victorino and Jonny Gomes.
Ross hit .267 with 22 home runs and 81 RBIs in 130 games with the Red Sox last season.
