The Cincinnati Reds have reportedly completed a three-team deal that is netting them some outfield help.
The Cleveland Indians have traded Shin-Soo Choo and Jason Donald to Cincinnati as part of a deal that also includes the Arizona Diamondbacks, according to Jon Heyman of CBS Sports. The deal will send Cincinnati outfielder Drew Stubbs to Cleveland.
The Diamondbacks announced via Twitter that pitchers Trevor Bauer, Bryan Shaw and Matt Albers will also go to the Indians for shortstop Didi Gregorius, pitcher Tony Sipp and first baseman Lars Anderson.
In all, the Indians will receive Bauer, Albers, Shaw and Stubbs, the Reds will get Choo and Donald, and the Diamondbacks will receive Gregorius, Sipp and Anderson, according to Heyman.
The Reds will use Choo in center field and batting leadoff, according to Danny Knobler of CBS Sports. Choo hasn’t played center field since 2009, when he played one game there with the Indians. Prior to that, Choo hadn’t played center field since 2006 with the Mariners. He has 10 career games at the position.
Choo batted .283 with a .815 OPS in 155 games with the Indians in 2012. He hit 16 home runs with 67 RBIs.
