Shane Victorino has had the privilege of playing on some winning teams. He’s also had a chance to perform on the big stage within a big baseball market. Boston, however, offers something unique.
Victorino, who was introduced at a news conference on Thursday, said that he’s “beyond ecstatic” to join the Red Sox. The veteran outfielder said he’s often asked which ballpark is his favorite, and he can’t help but marvel at Fenway Park and Wrigley Field because of their respective traditions.
Fortunately for Victorino, he’ll now have the opportunity to call Fenway home. While in Boston, Victorino said he intends to bring plenty of energy to whichever spot in the lineup manager John Farrell puts him.
