Terrell Owens, Blake GriffinTerrell Owens played basketball in college before ultimately shifting all — or at least most — of his attention to football. Now, with NFL teams not exactly lining up for the 39-year-old’s services, T.O. is apparently considering a return to the hardwood.

Owens, who played hoop while attending the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga back in the day, recently showed up to an NBA practice facility in the hopes of securing a job.

“Terrell Owens is always — he was at our practice facility this summer, begging coaches for a 10-day contract,” Clippers star Blake Griffin said on The Dan Patrick Show, according to Pro Football Talk.

Owens, of course, has had a hard time landing an NFL gig since being cut by the Seahawks back in August. The receiver’s last NFL game action came with the Bengals in 2010, when he caught 72 passes for 983 yards and nine touchdowns in 14 games. His last NBA action? Never.

There have been no reports yet of Owens looking to lace up the skates any time soon, but we’ll see what happens when the lockout ends.
