Tom Brady Earns Spot on Rex Ryan’s Holiday Wish List, As Jets Still Face Awful Quarterback Situation

Ladies, you aren’t the only ones with Tom Brady at the top of your Christmas wish list. There’s a certain coach who wouldn’t mind seeing the future Hall of Famer in green and white this holiday season.

Jets head coach Rex Ryan has been forced to address quarterback questions all season long. That tends to happen when your starting quarterback is the putrid Mark Sanchez and you have the most famous backup in NFL history in Tim Tebow wasting away on the bench. In recent days, however, Sexy Rexy has really been feeling the heat from the media when it comes to his team’s signal caller.

Ryan, who recently named Greg McElroy the Jets’ new starter, is now faced with rumors about the team potentially moving on from both Sanchez and Tebow in the offseason. Plus, he’s being forced to deal with speculation that New York could bring in Michael Vick if he’s cut by the Eagles.

Ryan wouldn’t comment on the juicy Vick rumor, but he was quick to point out his interest in TB12.

“[I] realize that every team is not going to have Tom Brady,” Ryan told reporters. “I’ll be honest with you, if we had Tom Brady, I’d be happy with that.  We don’t, but there are only maybe one or two other guys that would be in that [group], whether it’s New Orleans [quarterback Drew Brees] or Peyton Manning.”

Sorry, Aaron Rodgers. Apparently, you don’t make Ryan’s cut.

Patriots fans probably don’t have to worry too much about Brady jumping ship any time soon, though. In fact, there’s probably a better chance that the Mayans are simply off by a few days in their prediction. Still, it’s clear Ryan has a bit of an infatuation for Brady.

Then again, how could you not?
