Torii Hunter seems very happy with the Detroit Tigers, after signing with the defending American League champions earlier this offseason. That doesn’t mean he can’t still be a little bitter about his breakup with his former team, the Los Angeles Angels.
That breakup probably stings a little bit more after the Angels reportedly signed free-agent slugger Josh Hamilton to an astronomical five-year, $125 million contract.
Things didn’t go over very well with Hunter, who was quick to let it be known that the Angels supposedly told him they didn’t have the money to retain the Gold Glover’s services.
Hunter took to Twitter on Thursday afternoon shortly after the news of Hamilton’s reported new deal broke. He made it clear that he’s not happy with the Angels, more specifically Angels owner Arte Moreno.
See what Hunter had to say below.
I was told money was tight but I guess the Arte had money hidden under a Mattress. Business is business but don't lie.

But hey, it’s nothing personal, you guys.
Great signing for the Angels. One the best players in baseball.
