While AJ McCarron was trying to subdue some of his girlfriend’s new admirers on Monday night on Twitter after winning his second national championship, he hinted at a possible move away from the college ranks.

In a series of tweets between Arizona Cardinals defensive tackle Darnell Dockett and McCarron after Dockett tweeted at the quarterback’s girlfriend, Katherine Webb, Dockett said, “oh and far as the playoffs yeah it was a bad season! S**t, wish it would of been diffrent. Maybe u can come help us!#rolltide.”

To that, the junior quarterback had an interesting response.

Of course, Dockett couldn’t let the conversation with his possible future teammate go without one more shot at McCarron’s former Miss Alabama girlfriend.

Dockett wears No. 90 for the Cardinals.

McCarron said in December that he would return to the Crimson Tide for the 2013 season. That was before he won his second BCS National Championship, of course. Opinion varies on McCarron’s 2013 NFL draft stock, with some declaring him a possible suitor for the No. 1 quarterback drafted, and some saying he’s not more than a career backup.

McCarron made some impressive throws against Notre Dame. He finished the game 20 for 28 with 264 yards and four touchdowns.
