Alex Rodriguez‘s reputation is once again under attack, and the Yankees slugger is already responding.
Rodriguez, whose name appeared on lists obtained by the Miami New Times from an anti-aging clinic in Miami that allegedly sold performance-enhancing drugs, has hired an attorney and is denying any involvement with the clinic’s chief, 49-year-old Anthony Bosch.
The public relations firm Sitrick and Company on Tuesday issued the following statement on behalf of Rodriguez:
“The news report about a purported relationship between Alex Rodriguez and Anthony Bosch are not true. Alex Rodriguez was not Mr. Bosch’s patient, he was never treated by him and he was never advised by him. The purported documents referenced in the story — at least as they relate to Alex Rodriguez — are not legitimate.”
Rodriguez’s name reportedly appeared 16 times in the records obtained by the Miami New Times. The other major leaguers named in the report include Melky Cabrera, Nelson Cruz, Gio Gonzalez, Bartolo Colon and Yasmani Grandal.
