After a long wait for the NHL lockout to come to a conclusion, the Bruins’ season is finally starting on Jan. 19 at 7 p.m.

Boston will face off against the Rangers in the season opener, and coverage starts at 5:30 p.m. The Bruins will see the Rangers early and often during the 48-game schedule as the two teams will face off three times in the first month of the season.

The game will feature two of the best teams in the NHL, and the Rangers got even better during the offseason. New York traded for right winger Rick Nash in June.

During the 2011-12 season, the Bruins finished the regular season first in the Northeast Division while the Rangers finished first in the Atlantic. The two teams squared off four times with New York taking three of the matchups.

Coverage at 5:30 p.m. begins with Big Bad Bruins LIVE presented by DCU followed by a special one-hour edition of W.B. Mason Bruins Face-Off LIVE. Coverage concludes with ACE Ticket Bruins Overtime LIVE after the game.

NESN will get you prepared with everything you may have missed during the long offseason, plus everything you’ll have to look forward to during the Bruins’ 48-game 2013 season.
