There’s plenty of credit to go around, but it starts and ends with the manager. David Moyes has managed the club since 2002, transforming it from one battling relegation to one that is on the cusp of reaching the UEFA Champions League.
It looks like magic to some, but it’s not. Moyes embodies and promotes values like community spirit and ambition to get the best out of his players. It has worked to varying degrees over the last decade, but this season has seen his approach reach a new level of effectiveness.
