Dunkin’ Donuts Selling Ravens Doughnut Boxes in Baltimore, Despite Company Roots in Massachusetts (Photo)

It appears that Dunkin’ Donuts is trying to have its cake and eat it too.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Dunkin’ Donuts has released Ravens-inspired doughnut boxes in Baltimore. The twist is that the breakfast food chain was founded by William Rosenberg in Quincy, Mass., and is currently headquartered less than 15 miles away from Gillette Stadium.

With the trash talk already flowing before Sunday’s AFC championship game, these Ravens donuts are just adding fuel to the fire. Perhaps this is Baltimore’s retaliation for the Ray Lewis retirement billboard, and if it is they sure hit the sweet spot.

This past September, Baltimore-area Dunkin’ Donuts even sold Ray Lewis insulated coffee mugs, signaling the beginning of the disloyalty. All of the smiling Rob Gronkowski cardboard cutouts in the world can’t begin to repair the damage that has been done.

DD may not buy into the cliche that there is no place like home, but the Patriots hope it rings true when they host the Ravens on Sunday evening. In addition to an AFC champion being crowned this weekend, perhaps Dunkin’ Donuts will crown its own favorite team instead of playing the field.

Check out the offending box in the tweet below.
