Unfortunately for the Kansas City Chiefs, who hold the No. 1 overall pick in the 2013 NFL draft, the best pro prospect is not draft eligible.
Jadeveon Clowney is one of those rare players that has lived up to all of the hype that surrounded him coming out of high school as the No. 1 recruit. At South Carolina he’s dominated SEC competition in his first two college seasons, and he put on a show at the Outback Bowl against Michigan.
Clowney’s biggest play of the game came early in the fourth quarter when Michigan quarterback Devin Gardner handed off to running back Vincent Smith. An unblocked Clowney delivered a vicious blow to the Wolverine that jarred his helmet off and the ball loose. In one fell swoop, Clowney jumped the snap, went unblocked, speared Smith and palmed the ball to recover it with one hand.
Watch Clowney demolish Smith in the video below.
