JaVale McGee provides his share of highlights — and lowlights — every game, but occasionally he pulls off a play so jaw-dropping that it reminds everybody why his teams put up with his hijinks.
The Nuggets big man had one of those moments in Tuesday’s game against the Trail Blazers. As McGee lurked in front of the hoop, point guard Ty Lawson fired a lob toward the general vicinity of the basket. McGee leaped, palmed the ball out of mid-air like it was a tennis ball, and twisted his wrist to throw the ball through the hoop.
