The feud between Kevin Garnett and Carmelo Anthony just got a little, well, weird.
By now Anthony has long since served his one-game suspension for waiting by the Celtics’ team bus for Garnett after last Monday’s 102-96 Boston victory. Regardless of Anthony’s intentions, the mid-game exchange between the two certainly got heated, and now we may have a little more clarity as to why.
After the contest, rumors got out that Garnett had said something about Anthony’s wife, which Celtics coach Doc Rivers vehemently denied, saying that Garnett knows where the trash talk line is. But whether or not the rumors or true, what Garnett is said to have told Anthony definitely has some comedic value.
According to The New York Post, Garnett told Anthony that the latter’s wife, reality star La La, “tastes like Honey Nut Cheerios.” Apparently not one to take offense, La La, herself, didn’t take a swipe at Garnett, but rather tweeted out her belief that she should get some free cereal because of all the publicity the story has generated.
Not for nothing, but we ALL deserve a check or some free cereal 4all the publicity we’ve given Honey Nut Cheerios! LOL #cantbelieveeverything
