Celtics guard Leandro Barbosa has played basketball stateside for several years, but that doesn’t mean his heart still isn’t in his home country.
Barbosa, who spent some time in Brazil dealing with family matters earlier this season, was once again thinking of his home country Sunday morning. A horrific fire at a nightclub in southern Brazil early Sunday killed at least 232 people and injured 200 more.
Barbosa and his Celtics teammates were preparing to play the Heat early Sunday afternoon, but Barbosa first took time to share his support.
My prayers & condolences to the victims of a fire in southern Brazil. I wish all their families peace and stay strong. #PrayForSantaMaria
