Titus Young Is Adamant He’s ‘Not Selfish,’ But Threatens to Retire If He Doesn’t Get Ball More

Titus Young looks to have a bright future ahead of him in the NFL — that is if he decides to continue playing football.

Young, 23, caught 33 passes and four touchdowns in 10 games with the Lions this season, but the talented young receiver isn’t happy with the amount of balls he was thrown in 2012 and is even threatening to retire if things don’t change.

Aside from the target issues, the animated second-year receiver was also benched and then placed on injured reserve in December after he was accused of purposely lining up in the wrong position multiple times — a claim Young also took to Twitter to deny.

Whatever the reality is behind Young’s antics, the Lions have to be concerned whether he actually fits into their long-term plans or is just a talented enigma. Also, maybe he needs to be reminded that he shares a field with arguably the best receiver in football — Calvin Johnson — and maybe that’s where his targets are going.
