The excitement on Wednesday night came courtesy of the Mountain West and West Coast Conferences. UNLV earned a 82-75 road victory over No. 15 San Diego State and the entertainment only got better as the night went on.
Just after 1 a.m. ET, BYU and St. Mary’s each hit late-game shots in a wild final three seconds.
BYU’s leading scorer, Tyler Haws, connected on a floater in the lane with three seconds remaining. St. Mary’s quickly got the ball up the floor on the inbound pass and Matthew Dellavedova heaved a 35-footer and silenced the Marriott Center crowd with the buzzer beating 3-pointer. With the 70-69 win, the Gaels moved to 14-4 (3-1 WCC), while the Cougars dropped to 14-5 (4-1 WCC).
