The Celtics will be without their star point guard on Monday night in New York.

Rajon Rondo was suspended one game without pay for making contact with a game official against the Hawks. The league announced Rondo failed to cooperate with the investigation. He will sit out against the Knicks.

Rondo bumped up against NBA official Rodney Mott‘s arm on Saturday. He was not ejected for the action in Atlanta.

Rondo was suspended one game in April for a similar incident in a Round 1 matchup against the Hawks in the playoffs. He was suspended two games this season for shoving Nets forward Kris Humphries in November.
