It’s been only three days since the Broncos were eliminated from the playoffs, but Denver offensive coordinator Mike McCoy is moving on to a new gig.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, McCoy informed the Broncos Tuesday morning that he will be accepting the San Diego Chargers’ head coaching job.

McCoy, who has served as Denver’s offensive coordinator since 2009, will take over for Norv Turner, who was fired earlier this offseason after six seasons in San Diego. This will mark McCoy’s first head coaching job, and the hiring comes after the 40-year-old received plenty of interest from teams around the league with head coaching vacancies.
