Report: Eagles Interview Brian Billick for Head Coaching Vacancy

Brian BillickBrian Billick‘s name seems to come up every so often when discussing NFL head coaching vacancies, so in an offseason in which tons of pink slips have been handed out, it was really only a matter of time before the former Ravens head coach became the subject of speculation.

Well, perhaps there’s more to the story this time around. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Philadelphia Eagles have interviewed Billick for their head coaching vacancy.

Billick, whose last coaching gig was with the Ravens in 2007, reportedly interviewed on Monday. Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie, general manager Howie Roseman and president Don Smolenski have reportedly interviewed eight candidates since firing Andy Reid earlier this offseason.

Billick spent nine seasons as Baltimore’s head coach from 1999 to 2007, and he guided the Ravens to an 80-64 record, four playoff appearances and their only Super Bowl in franchise history.

The Eagles are reportedly scheduled to interview Bengals offensive coordinator Jay Gruden on Monday and Colts offensive coordinator Bruce Arians on Tuesday.
