Joe Flacco is a free agent after this season, and the Ravens quarterback is looking to cash in on that fact.
After leading his team to a 10-6 regular season record and the Super Bowl, the 28-year-old Flacco is asking for upwards of $18 million per year in his next contract — because that’s how much Peyton Manning makes, of course.
According to the NFL Network’s Ian Rapaport, Flacco’s camp is arguing that their guy has outplayed Manning, so he should be outearning him, too. That might be a point of contention when comparing the entire body of work shown by the veteran signal-callers, but if Flacco can lead Baltimore to a Super Bowl victory, he just might have a point.
Over the course of his five-year career, Flacco has completed 60.5 percent of his passes while throwing for 102 touchdowns and just 56 interceptions.
