Captain Ryan Callahan suffered what appeared to be a pretty painful left arm injury Tuesday night in the third period of New York’s 2-1 win over the Philadelphia Flyers.

Callahan took exception to a little extracurricular activity from Philly’s Max Talbot around the Rangers net, and the two ended up dropping the gloves. It’s unclear where exactly Callahan got injured, but you can see in replays that there were a couple of awkward grappling instances that could have led to the injury. Even Talbot seemed to know something was wrong, as Talbot pulled up toward the end of the fight.

Callahan skated off the ice right away and into the New York locker room following the fight.

Rangers head coach John Tortorella had “no idea” when Callahan would be able to return, according to ESPN.com.

The Rangers are slated to return to practice Wednesday at noon.
