Serena Williams may be one of the best tennis players in the world. But in this week’s Australian Open, her return stroke did more than clobber a ball.
In a second-round match, the 31-year-old tracked down a loose ball hit by Spanish teen Garbine Muguruza. The aftermath of the vicious swing cost her a shot to the lip.
“I just busted it, busted it wide open,” Williams said after the match, laughing.
