Tom Brady, Wes WelkerWes Welker was held to just three receptions and 52 yards on nine targets against the Texans earlier this season, in one of his least-productive games of the year.

Although the Pats easily won that game 42-14, Texans defensive coordinator Wade Phillips wasn’t very impressed with No. 83.

“Ah, Welker’s not [A.J.] Green,” Phillips told ESPN.com. “He’s a good player, but he’s not that big or a real athletic guy.

“[Welker is] a quick guy that gets open on option routes,” he added. “[Texans nickleback Brandon] Harris actually played him pretty good. He got a holding penalty that hurt us early in the game. But Harris played pretty well. If we don’t get him on a speed guy, we’re in good shape.”

Consider this bulletin board material.

Phillips, of course, backed off his statement and tweeted out some love for the Pats’ receiver, as seen below.
