The 2004 NHL entry draft consisted of a pretty impressive roster, to say the least.

Russian superstars Alex Ovechkin and Evgeni Malkin went No. 1 and No. 2 overall, before Canadians Cam Barker and Andrew Ladd were picked in the next two slots. American Blake Wheeler, from the University of Minnesota, was snagged with the fifth overall pick.
