Goalie fights are awesome because they’re so rare and because they feature two guys in a ton of padding awkwardly throwing punches at each other.

However, more often than not, the fights aren’t that good, at least in terms of a true fighting sense. For proof of that, just go back to the Carey PriceTim Thomas “brawl” from a couple of years back.

However, a pair of WHL goalies looked to buck that trend on Sunday, when they went at it in the middle of the ice, taking center stage for all to see. The Edmonton Oil Kings’ Laurent Brossoit and the Lethbridge Hurricanes’ Ty Rimmer gave us one of the best goalie fights we’ve seen in a long time.

The goaltenders met at center ice and engaged in a lengthy fight with a handful of blows being delivered. According to CBSSports.com, the two goalies were given 19 minutes apiece for their roles in the battle.
