WHL Goalies Meet at Center Ice for Surprisingly Combative Goalie Fight (Video)

Goalie fights are awesome because they’re so rare and because they feature two guys in a ton of padding awkwardly throwing punches at each other.

However, more often than not, the fights aren’t that good, at least in terms of a true fighting sense. For proof of that, just go back to the Carey Price-Tim Thomas “brawl” from a couple of years back.

However, a pair of WHL goalies looked to buck that trend on Sunday, when they went at it in the middle of the ice, taking center stage for all to see.┬áThe Edmonton Oil Kings’ Laurent Brossoit and the Lethbridge Hurricanes’ Ty Rimmer gave us one of the best goalie fights we’ve seen in a long time.

The goaltenders met at center ice and engaged in a lengthy fight with a handful of blows being delivered. According to CBSSports.com, the two goalies were given 19 minutes apiece for their roles in the battle.
