Alex RodriguezIf you’re in the market for an Alex Rodriguez World Series ring, you’re in luck.

Rodriguez’s cousin, Yuri Sucart, is selling the diamond-studded 2009 World Series ring that the slugger gave him, according to the New York Daily News. The ring will reportedly go on sale Monday, and sports memorabilia auctioneer Ken Goldin said it could bring in as much as $40,000.

“It’s a unique item,” Goldin reportedly said. “There is no doubt that Alex is the greatest player of his generation, and this was his only World Series victory.”

It’s funny that Goldin labeled Rodriguez “the greatest player of his generation” because there’s a good chance that A-Rod may never end up in Cooperstown due to his link to performance-enhancing drugs. What’s even funnier is that Rodriguez has stated that Sucrat was the man who led him down the steroid path.

The ring is a size 16 and is made of 14-karat white gold. It has “Rodriguez” on one side above a Yankees logo, and “World Champions 2009 Unity” on the other side. The opening bid is reportedly $5,000, so start selling lemonade, shoveling snow or whatever it is you do for some extra cake.
