Fancy a trout loch at your home? How about a chapel, reception hall, two drawing rooms, a conservatory and 14 bedroom suites?

Tennis star Andy Murray was in the mood for all of the above, and he got it, plus 50 acres of woodlands and a garden, with his purchase of Cromlix House Hotel in the Stirlingshire area of Scotland. The hotel is a Victorian mansion that Murray plans to further upgrade into a five-star destination, according to The Telegraph.

Murray was born in the area and went to school in Dunblane, the town in which Cromlix House is located. He hopes to have the hotel up and running by next spring, when the 2014 Ryder Cup will be coming to nearby Gleneagles, according to The Telegraph.

“I am pleased to have acquired Cromlix House and look forward to securing its future as a successful business,” Murray said. “By re-establishing Cromlix as a leading luxury hotel at the heart of the Dunblane community, we will be able to attract new visitors to the area, create a number of new jobs and focus on supporting other local businesses. I’m pleased to be able to give something back to the community I grew up in.”

Murray has his own housing settled — he lives in a £5.5 million ($8.3 million) place in Surrey, England.

Cromlix House was built in 1874 and turned into a luxury hotel in 1981. Murray reportedly paid $3 million for the place (£1.8 million).

“I thought we junked the game up. I’m a fan of that, but we did it, we went zone, started trapping all around the floor and I just thought our trap was so bad, it was good. We didn’t know what we were doing, and they didn’t know what we were doing, and it created confusion, and it worked.”
