Report: Da’Quan Bowers Arrested for Carrying Loaded Handgun at LaGuardia Airport

Buccaneers defensive end Da’Quan Bowers was arrested Monday morning after he was found to be carrying a loaded gun at New York’s LaGuardia Airport.

NBC New York reports that Bowers was illegally carrying a .40 caliber handgun in his carry-on bag, and was arrested while trying to pass through a security checkpoint. He was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 25th.

The 22-year-old was an All-American and Nagurski Trophy winner at Clemson before being drafted by Tampa Bay in the second round in 2011. Bowers played in 26 games for the Bucs over the last two seasons, recording 38 tackles and 4.5 sacks.
