LeBron James is right about one thing: A self-imposed nickname is far from cool.
Dwyane Wade joined Kobe Bryant, the self-dubbed “Black Mamba,” in giving himself his own nickname over the weekend. In a reference to his shoe sponsorship with the Chinese sneaker company Li-Ning, Wade has given himself the nickname “WoW.”
Settle down, “World or Warcraft” fans. Wade’s nickname is an acronym for “Way of Wade,” not the popular online game, but in James’ opinion that does not make it any better.
“I think it’s corny,” James told The Palm Beach Post.
We are inclined to agree with James. Wait, did we really just write that?
