UC Riverside shortstop Eddie Young wanted no part of talking things out. Instead, he thought a swift hook to the jaw was the appropriate maneuver.

Young got caught up in a rundown between second and third during the third inning of UC Riverside’s game against Sacramento State on Friday. Young was eventually tagged out by second baseman Andrew Ayers,  but he decided to not go quietly. Instead, Young appeared to grab Ayers’ glove, at which point the Sac State second baseman gave Young a shove. Young responded with a haymaker.

From there, it was chaos, as the benches cleared, punches flew and emotions ran high. In the end, both Young and Ayers were ejected, as was UC Riverside catcher Drake Zarate. All three players will now be suspended for four games, according to the Sacramento Bee.

If these teams have unfinished business when it comes to throwing down, they won’t have to wait long. The teams play a doubleheader on Saturday and then wrap up their series with a game on Sunday. Anyone hear a bell?
