Bears quarterback Jay Cutler has explained away a lot of obnoxious, very Jay Cutler behavior. He has reasons why he shouted at teammates, blew off coaches on the sidelines or generally just doesn’t look invested in life.
But he’s going to need a pretty good explanation when it comes to why he was such a schmuck when he proposed to his girlfriend.
Kristin Cavallari is counting down the days to her wedding, chattering with E! Online about wedding dates and colors and such. But when she shared the details of how she got her engagement ring in the first place, it sounded like Cutler maybe wasn’t as excited about making a commitment to a former Hills star as he could have been.
The two had been engaged but broke up for a few months before reconciling. When it was time to become re-engaged, Cutler didn’t go to any great lengths.
“It was so silly,” Cavallari said, according to E!. “I was in the airport, leaving Chicago. We had just spent however many days together, and we were texting, and somehow it came up, like, ‘Oh, shall we get married?’ We’re like, ‘Yeah, OK.’ And then he sent me my ring in the mail. So I actually had my ring sitting at home for a couple of weeks before I put it on.”
As E! notes, “Talk about a special delivery!”
Yes. Best of luck to the both of you.
