Kobe Bryant apparently lives up to his nickname “Black Mamba.”
According to Washington Wizards guard Jordan Crawford, Bryant hisses like a snake when he wants the ball. Crawford said he had heard from other NBA players that the Laker does this, but he still couldn’t believe it when he heard it.
“It’s like ‘Sss, sss.’ Like ‘Fish, Fish, Fisher. Sss, sss.’” Crawford said on the Dan Le Betard Show. “He do that. Everybody tells you he’s gonna do it before you play him — like, ‘Wait ’til you hear him do this.’ And then he do it, and it’s like, what? He’s really a mamba. It sounds like some kind of snake.”
So if you’re ever at a Lakers game and get seats close enough to the court, listen for Bryant’s hissing sound. Watch Crawford explain Bryant’s odd behavior in the video below.
