Kobe Bryant might just have had something to prove on Sunday afternoon, when he went off for a game-high 38 points in the Lakers’ 103-99 win over Dallas.

After all, it was Mavericks owner Mark Cuban who said earlier in the week that the Lakers’ should use their amnesty clause on the five-time NBA champ. In case Bryant’s 38 points, 12 rebounds and seven assists weren’t enough of a statement, the Lakers guard hammered home his point in a tweet posted after the game.

The amnesty clause is a one-time transaction for teams to put a player on waivers, eliminating their salary from the team’s overall salary as well as the luxury tax. Bryant becomes a restricted free agent when his contract expires after the 2013-2014 season.

While the Lakers responded to Cuban’s comments on Friday, calling them “inappropriate,” it seems that Bryant wanted to respond in his own way.
