Kyle Vanden BoschSometimes business can get personal, especially in the sports world. However, not all athletes take such an emotional approach to the business side of the game.

Kyle Vanden Bosch has learned to separate those two facets of his life, even when it comes to something as emotional as his own wedding. When the Detroit Lions released Vanden Bosch on Wednesday, the three-time Pro Bowler showed that he holds no ill will toward the franchise for the pure business decision.

The 34-year-old defensive end, who is set to get married in March, still plans on having Lions head coach Jim Schwartz and other staff members at the ceremony, according to the Detroit Free Press.

“Not for me,” Vanden Bosch said when asked if it would be awkward. “I consider them friends, that’s with all of them. And anytime I get an opportunity to attend a Lions game I’ll always be the biggest Lions fan.”

Vanden Bosch contributed just 3 1/2 sacks for the Lions in 2012 and appeared to lose a step off the edge. But the 12-year veteran doesn’t seem ready to hang up the cleats just yet.

So, while he did say he’ll always be a Lions fan, Vanden Bosch does plan on playing again next season — even if that is somewhere outside of Detroit.
