Report: Ray Allen Sells Massachusetts Home for $4.6 Million, Same as Purchase Price in 2007

When Ray Allen signed with the Miami Heat last offseason, he was not leaving behind Boston completely. He and his family kept their 11,000-square-foot home in Wellesley, Mass., where they had lived since 2007.

Now, it appears Allen no longer even has that link to the area.

Allen sold the nine-bedroom, nine-bathroom home for $4.6 million, Boston Business Journal reports. That amount reportedly is equal to what Allen paid for the house, and about $600,000 less than the list price of about $5.2 million.

“One of Wellesley’s finest properties,” the real estate listing reads, according to BBJ. “Four floors of luxurious living… in the heart of Wellesley Farms… foyer with curved walls and beautiful staircase leading into a gallery gives this home sophistication while having a warm and welcoming family room and kitchen/dining for everyday living.”

Allen bought the house in 2007 shortly after the Celtics acquired him in a trade with the Seattle SuperSonics. He played five seasons in Boston, helping the Celtics win an NBA championship in 2008 and reach the seventh game of the 2010 NBA Finals, before signing a two-year contract with the Heat last year.
