Truck DayThe Red Sox’ equipment truck rolled out of Fenway Park on Tuesday, beginning its near-1,500-mile journey to JetBlue Park in Fort Myers, Fla., and marking the unofficial start of baseball season.

Before the wheels started turning, the truck had to be loaded, and Red Sox fans flocked down to Yawkey Way to take in the annual tradition of Truck Day.

Co-owner Larry Lucchino, third baseman Will Middlebrooks, NESN’s Jenny Dell and Wally the Green Monster were among those in attendance at the event as stadium workers underwent the final preparations before the truck headed out.

The Sox start their Spring Training slate with a doubleheader against Northeastern and Boston College on Thursday, Feb. 21, before hosting the Tampa Bay Rays two days later.
