Major League Baseball has experienced an astounding series of events regarding performance-enhancing drugs, and the latest case — Anthony Bosch‘s list of players who allegedly received PEDs — continues to grow as more reports are revealed.
According documents obtained by ESPN’s Outside the Lines, five more players have been implicated in the scandal. However, it’s not known if the alleged players used or received the banned drugs from the Miami dealer.
The five players named in the latest report were San Diego Padres shortstop Everth Cabrera, newly acquired Padres reliever Fautino De Los Santos, Oakland A’s reliever Jordan Norberto, Houston Astros outfielder Fernando Martinez and New York Mets prospect Cesar Puello.
Additionally, according to two sources close to Bosch’s activity, Gio Gonzalez, who was linked to the earlier Biogenesis investigation, has been found to have not received banned substances from Bosch or his Miami clinic.
Such well-known players as Melky Cabrera, Alex Rodriguez, Nelson Cruz, Francisco Cervelli, Ryan Braun and Yasmani Grandal were previously named in the document, and all have denied involvement.
