Despite recent struggles, mostly due to injuries, the Clippers are making it clear they’re playing to win this year.
Los Angeles has contacted the Celtics about trading for Kevin Garnett, according to Sean Devaney of The Sporting News. The deal would bring Caron Butler and Eric Bledsoe to the Celtics.
The Clippers already have Blake Griffin at power forward and DeAndre Jordan at center. Bledsoe is among the best backup point guards in the NBA. He’s averaging 9.0 points, 3.1 rebounds and 3.0 assists despite playing just 20.9 minutes per game.
After season-ending injuries to Rajon Rondo and Jared Sullinger, some are calling for Boston to blow up the team this year to win for the future. Garnett signed a three-year deal worth $34 million in June.
