Citing sources in Italy, Spanish daily Mundo Deportivo says Real Madrid will offer €56 million ($75 million) for Napoli striker Edinson Cavani.

If Real Madrid acquires the Uruguayan star, the move would be one of the top transfers in the summer. It would challenge the possible exit of Colombian Radamel Falcao from Atletico de Madrid who has a buyout clause of €60 million ($80.5 million).

The offer, however, is lower than Cavani’s buyout clause which is €63 million ($84.7 million). To its advantage, Real Madrid has the player’s predisposition to go to Spain, as he would see the transfer as very positive.

Cavani, who has scored an impressive 27 goals in 28 games in all competitions this season, is also reportedly on Paris Saint-Germain’s agenda, but the “Merengues” appear to have the advantage for now.
