The Calgary Flames have had a busy day.
Hours after trading for minor league enforcer Brian McGrattan, the team has signed restricted free agent Ryan O’Reilly to an offer sheet, according to TSN’s Darren Dreger. O’Reilly has not played so far this season while engaged (or not) in contract talks with the Colorado Avalanche.
O'Reilly details more clearly: 2 yrs .. 5M AAV ... 1m salary this year and 2.5 SB ... 6.5M salary next year.

Colorado will now have a chance to match the offer, or the team can let O’Reilly join the Flames in exchange for a first- and third-round pick in next year’s draft.
