Ronda Rousey Wins First-Ever UFC Women’s Fight Over Liz Carmouche With First-Round Armbar Submission (Photos)

Ronda RouseyRonda Rousey won the first-ever UFC women’s fight after getting Liz Carmouche to submit to an armbar on Saturday night at the Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif.

Rousey remains undefeated, and also retains her UFC Women’s Bantamweight title, which she was awarded on Dec. 6.

Although the fight lasted only a single round, it was an exciting bout, culminating in Rousey’s armbar with 11 seconds to go. Earlier in the round, Carmouche attempted to submit Rousey with a rear naked choke but was unable to fully lock in the hold.

Rousey became the first female fighter in UFC history when she signed in November. Her seventh career win will go down as another milestone.
