Steven Gerrard, Luis Suarez, Pepe Reina Among 15 Liverpool Players on International Duty

Luis SuarezA busy week of international football sees 15 Liverpool stars temporarily switch their focus to representing their countries, with fixtures at Wembley and in Qatar included on the agenda.

England captain Steven Gerrard is joined by Reds teammate Glen Johnson on Roy Hodgson‘s squad for a home friendly against Brazil.

The Reds have four youngsters in the Three Lions’ U-21 squad — Jordan Henderson, Jonjo Shelvey, Andre Wisdom and Jack Robinson are all in line to take on Sweden.

Pepe Reina has been included in Spain’s squad for their showpiece friendly against Uruguay in Qatar, with Luis Suarez and Sebastian Coates named in the South Americans’ travelling party.

Suso could feature for the world champions’ U-21 side when it faces Belgium on Tuesday.

Following his recent return from injury, Reds forward Fabio Borini has been included in the Italy U-21s squad for its friendly against Germany.

Defenders Daniel Agger and Martin Skrtel are on their travels this week — the former will represent Denmark against FYR Macedonia, while his colleague heads to Belgium for Slovakia’s international.

Midfielder Joe Allen will return to the Liberty Stadium when Wales welcomes Austria on Wednesday, while young goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi could continue his international career as Hungary hosts Belarus.
