Tim Thomas’ Most Memorable Moments in Boston Include Stanley Cup Win, Political Controversy (Photos)

This came according to the Bruins on Thursday afternoon, as Boston traded Thomas to the Islanders for a conditional second-round draft pick in 2014 or 2015. Thomas is sitting out this season, but in his time minding the net, he compiled a 196-121-0-45 record with 10,533 career saves.

His tenure in Boston was highlighted by a memorable 2011 playoff run, ending with a 4-0 Game 7 win on the road in Vancouver to give Boston its sixth Stanley Cup — first since 1972. However, for Thomas’ on the ice success, he did have several controversial moments off the ice, typically involving his political opinions and use of social media.

In eight seasons in Boston, Thomas had more than his fair share of memorable moments.
