Tom Brady Told His Sister to ‘Move as Slow as Molasses’ With Now-Husband Kevin Youkilis

Tom Brady thinks of Kevin Youkilis as the brother he never had now, but the Patriots quarterback wasn’t always so supportive of his sister’s relationship with the new Yankee.

“I had told him [ Brady], ‘I think I may go see him [Youkilis],’” Julie Brady-Youkilis told the YES Network. “And he [ Brady] goes, ‘If I were you, I’d move as slow as molasses.’ And I go, ‘But Tommy, that means you don’t move at all,’ and he goes, ‘Exactly!’”

At the time Youkilis and Brady’s sister began dating, he was still a member of the Red Sox and she was still living in California. They were married in April 2012.

Youkilis says he and Brady have a great relationship now. The Yankees third baseman asked Brady’s advice about going from the Red Sox to the Yankees.

“I even asked a question about coming to New York,” Youkilis said. “‘Could you ever be a Jet or a Giant?’ And he’s like, ‘I don’t know. Luckily I’m not in your shoes.’ And I’m like, ‘Thanks a lot for your advice, buddy!’”

Boston fans everywhere just cringed picturing Brady in either rivals’ uniform.
