Ben Cherington announced right-handed pitchers Pedro Beato, Chris Carpenter, Anthony Carter, Jose De La Torre and Terry Doyle, left-handed pitchers Chris Hernandez and Oscar Villarreal, infielders Xander Bogaerts, Jonathan Diaz, Mark Hamilton, Justin Henry, Deven Marrero, Lyle Overbay and Drew Sutton and outfielders Jackie Bradley, Jeremy Hazelbaker, Juan Carlos Linares, Mitch Maier and Ryan Sweeney will all attend spring training as non-roster invitees. Bogaerts, Bradley and Marrero are among the Red Sox’ top prospects.
Beato, Carpenter, Maier, Overbay, Sutton, Sweeney and Villarreal all have major league experience. Pitchers and catchers report on Feb. 12.
