Adam McQuaid won’t be in the Bruins lineup when the Panthers invade TD Garden on Thursday night.

The B’s defenseman did not join the team for skate, taking turns with strength coach John Whitesides instead. Bruins head coach Claude Julien said that it was a “minor injury,” and didn’t sound too concerned.

“Day-to-day,” Julien remarked when asked about the blue liner after the club’s morning skate. “Just a minor injury, he’s not going to play [Thursday]. But, should be, hopefully, good to go from [Friday] on.”

With McQuaid out, Aaron Johnson will suit up, likely pairing up with Andrew Ference.

Chris Kelly (broken left tibia) is out indefinitely.

Tune in to NESN at 6:30 p.m. ET for Bruins coverage.
